I Sud della nostra vita

Giunge alla settima edizione, Cascina Farsetti Art, evento organizzato dal CSF adams per la promozione della cultura dell’immagine fotografica e non solo presso gli spazi della cascina all’interno di Villa Pamphilj (Roma).
Così come l’edizione passata, anche quest’anno verrà dato spazio alle nuove leve della fotografia, allievi, autori emergenti con grandi eccezioni legati ai nomi più conosciuti.
E così come le passate edizioni, un tema sarà il filo rosso di tutta la manifestazione.
Il reporter Tano D’Amico ha voluto regalare non solo un titolo, ma anche dei pensieri a quello legati:
I Sud della nostra vita. “ Sud è quel groviglio di macchie e di linee che trova quiete solo nelle immagini. Sud è la bellezza assoluta e solidale cercata da Tina Modotti. Sud sono le pietre che nelle fotografie di Eugene Smith diventano il villaggio da cui tutti noi veniamo” Tano D’Amico
Si tratta di un ritorno all’immagine come portatrice di sensazioni calde e familiari: ognuno di noi porta dentro il proprio Sud, sia esso polveroso, compatto, bellissimo e angosciante. Il tema, di sua natura effimero come quello di un ricordo sbiadito di note che riecheggiano da lontano, basa la sua forza sul concetto che la fotografia non è descrizione: anche il reportage non può essere immagine del “pacchetto”, ma del contenuto. Sarà come trovarsi davanti ad una scatola cinese, al quale interno ce n’è un’altra e un’altra ancora. Ognuna di esse conterrà un Sud ancora più Sud, metafora di ciò che, avvicinandoci alle nostre origini, siamo.

The Souths of our life
The seventh edition of Cascina Farsetti Art, one of the events organized by CSF adams for promoting the culture of the image inside and outside the photography world, will take place at the farmstead inside Villa Pamphilj park (Rome).
As it was in the past editions, there will be a lot of space dedicated to who is approaching the photography world, like emerging photographers and students of photography, with some exceptions linked to the most known names.
And as it was in the past editions, a theme will be the common thread of the event.
Reporter Tano D’Amico have chosen not only a title, but also some thoughts linked to it:
The Souths of our life. “South is the muddle of spots and lines that find peace only in pictures. South is the unconditioned and sympathetic beauty that Tina Modotti looked for. South are the stones that in Eugene Smith’s pictures become the village we all come from.” Tano D’Amico
It is a way back to the image as a vector of warm and homely feelings: everyone of us brings inside his own South, be it dusty, solid, beautiful and distressing. The theme, fleeting like a faded memory of notes echoing from far away, founds its strength on the concept that photography is not description: the reportage must be image of the content, not of the “pack”. It will be like stand in front of a chinese box, inside which there is another one, and another one, too. Every box will contain a souther South, metaphor, getting close to our origins, of what we are.
